Introducing Elora

We are excited to announce that we received a match for a little girl who is currently 15 months old. The call came at 1:48 pm Tuesday, November 29th and we saw her photos for the first time later that evening. She is a very healthy girl who is developing well, at nine months she was crawling and sitting by herself. Elora also has Albinism (the medical term for a person who lacks pigment, sometimes called Albino). Yes, she is very blonde with bright blue eyes and she will turn into a lobster if not slathered in sun screen, in other words, she’s exactly like her Mom and Dad! She is living in an orphanage in the south east of China in Wenzhou City, in Zhejiang province. She is described as quiet, a deep sleeper, always has a ready smile and enjoys music. We hope to travel to China to pick her up in the early spring of 2012.
Thank you all for your support and encouragement throughout this loooooong journey.
More Photos comming soon. I think it's against China's rules to post a photo before PA, but here is a sneak peak any ways :) More to come too on how match day all went down. What a roller coaster ride, honestly we are still recovering from it, hence the MIA this week. But soon I promise.

Congratulations on your Zhejiang referral! When you are ready to get her newspaper finding ad, let us know. The ad has a photo that is much younger than her referral photos. You will love it!

All the best!

Congrats on your referral!!! Beautiful!!
We just got back last month from adopting from Zhejiang province! We LOVED Hangzhou. Another family in our group also adopted from Wenzhou. Just a FYI, that province requires families to go to the SWI city for adoption stuff... the family in our group had to travel the day after receiving their girl 5 hours each way to Wenzhou and spend the night there in a hotel. They also got to go to the SWI and have a meal with the staff. Hope your travel comes quickly!!

Hi,
I have read RQ for years, though never posted and then saw your link to your blog. We brought our little girl home 9 months ago, also with albinism--there are a few of us in Canada with little ones from China with albinism--Our family is in the Ottawa Valley/Pontiac (Quebec side but work and do most things in Ontario. If you have not already visited or joined there is a BaiChina website where lots is shared and learned. Congratulations on your referral

Sorry. I must have been signed in on my husband's gmail a few moments ago (mikeeadie...) Shows that I do not do this much but since we are only 5 or 6 hours away and our children have similar needs I thought I would write. Karin
